For many ranches located in southern Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and many other parts of the southwest and Deep South, brush encroachment is a major issue. Typical control methods have been comprised of extensive mechanical intervention and/or chemical applications. Planned burns have also been frequently employed. These methods are expensive (even more so now) and often have mixed results. We find ourselves repeating these control methods time after time.
What if there is a better way to manage brush without having to rely on expensive inputs? Can we use regenerative grazing practices to effectively control brush encroachment and out compete the brush with forage growth? Understanding Ag has been doing this for many years. Allen Williams will share tried and true methods of brush control and enhancing forage growth through practical strategies and actual case studies.
